Kalt schimmert klar das Sternenlicht,
still sitz ich hier am Fenster.
In Gedanken seh ich Dein Gesicht
und nicht der Nacht Gespenster.

Die Gedanken wandern fort,
fern weit weg von diesem Ort
wo du in stillen Träumen liegst
und Deine täglich Ruhe kriegst.

Weit wandert meines Geistes Schein,
in Deine düstre Welt hinein
zu dunklen Gelüsten und Deiner Wonne,
