Als Voraussetzungen für einen glücklichen Lebensabend werden stets zwei Bedingungen genannt: sinnvolle Aufgaben, ein strukturierter Tag und soziale Kontakte, wobei ich mich momentan mit der letzteren Bedingung befasse.

Das Problem ist offensichtlich: Schien bisher die Arbeit das Leben auszufüllen und bewegten sich die Mehrzahl der sozialen Kontakte darum, ist der Ruhestand nicht immer Geschenk, sondern eine Herausforderung.

Das «Netzwerken» ist inzwischen zu einem Modebegriff geworden.
Früher sagte man vielleicht dazu «einen Bekanntenkreis pflegen».
Menschliche Kontakte, Freundschaften, Bekanntschaften sind der wichtigste Rohstoff unserer Zeit - Erdöl ist im Vergleich dazu eine Nebensache.
