Ein Mord in einer virtuellen Welt im Internet - kann der reale Folgen haben? Für eine 43-jährige Japanerin womöglich drastische - ihr drohen fünf Jahre Knast!
Die Frau war mit einem 33-Jährigen in der Web-Welt "Maple Story" (so etwas wie "Second Life"
verheiratet. Als der die Scheidung einreichte, drehte die Japanerin durch - ganz real.
Sie loggte sich mit den Daten ihres Ex-Geliebten ein und ließ seinen Avatar Selbstmord begehen. Als der Mann sein virtuelles Ableben bemerkte, rief er die Polizei.
Die Ermittler kamen dann auch. Aber nicht direkt wegen der virtuellen Straftat – sondern auf den Verdacht hin, dass sie sich illegal Zugriff zu einem fremden Computer verschafft und Daten manipuliert hatte.
«Ich war plötzlich geschieden, ohne ein Wort der Warnung. Das hat mich so wütend gemacht», sagte die 43-Jährige.
Bei Verurteilung droht der Täterin eine Gefängnisstrafe von bis zu fünf Jahren oder eine Geldstrafe bis zu 5000 US-Dollar.
