Zum Inhalt:
Im Weißen Rössl ... spielt dieser Roman zwar nicht, aber Vanessa betreibt mit ihren Eltern den Auhof am Wolfgangsee. Und natürlich trägt sie Dirndl … Doch ihre Neigung gilt nicht nur der traditionellen Welt im Salzkammergut, sondern auch: Frauen. Als sie sich an ihrem 27. Geburtstag vor ihren engsten Freundinnen als lesbisch outet, reagieren sie offen, aber erstaunt. Ob Vanessa denn schon einmal eine kennengelernt habe, die ihr gefalle …?
Unter fragwürdigen Umständen lernt Vanessa kurze Zeit später die dynamische Unternehmensberaterin Louise Stern kennen. Trotz ihrer unterschiedlichen Hintergründe – Louise hat ein Hochschulstudium und Kunden in ganz Europa, Vanessa die Kochlehre und ihr Zuhause am Wolfgangsee – funkt es zwischen den beiden. Eine Beziehung droht zunächst an den scheinbaren Unvereinbarkeiten zu scheitern. Zudem kann sich Vanessa nicht überwinden,
ihren Eltern reinen Wein einzuschenken. Zu groß ist ihre Sorge, sie zu enttäuschen. Doch dann wird Louise krank und braucht Unterstützung. Vanessa zögert trotz aller Ängste keine Sekunde. Die Beziehung wird offiziell. Und die Reaktion der konservativ eingestellten Eltern übertrifft die schlimmsten Erwartungen. Doch Vanessa nimmt den Kampf um ihre Freiheit, so zu leben und zu lieben, wie es sie glücklich macht, und um ihre Beziehung zu Louise tapfer
auf sich und wächst dabei über sich selbst hinaus…
