kurze Info zum Film:

Berlin 1923: Mit Arsen vergiftet Elli ihren Ehemann, den Tischler Link. Elli hatte den älteren Mann vorwiegend aus Versorgungsgründen geheiratet. Leidenschaft empfand sie nicht. Link fühlte sich hintergangen und begann, Elli zu quälen. Dann lernte Elli Grete Bende kennen. Zärtlichkeiten, die sie nie zuvor erfahren hatte, gaben ihr erstmals ein Glücksgefühl. Als Ellis Mann das Verhältnis sprengen wollte, war der Griff zum Gift für die Frau gleichsam ein Akt der Selbstbehauptung.

Der Mordfall aus dem Berlin von 1923 fand in Alfred Döblin einen detailgetreuen Chronisten. Vorgeschichte, Tat und Prozess wurden in seinem Buch "Die beiden Freundinnen und ihr Giftmord" festgehalten. Den Expressionisten interessierte die dumpfe Folgerichtigkeit der Abläufe, die fließende Grenze zwischen sympathiewürdigem Widerstand und erschreckender Tat.
