JEANNE C. STEIN – „Dunkle Küsse- Ein Vampir Thriller“

Die Anna Strong Vampirthriller „Verführung der Nacht“, „Lockruf des Blutes“ und schließlich noch „Dunkle Küsse“ dürften jeden Vampir Thriller Fan der Neuzeit in seinen Bann ziehen. Mit modernem Wortwitz hält JEANNE C. STEIN die Leser der dunklen Romanwelt bei sarkastisch lüsterner Leselust.

Sätze wie „Ich akzeptiere, dass ich Blut trinken muss und dass die Unsterblichkeit mein Zukunft ist. Doch das Tier in mir wird stärker- und immer schwerer zu beherrschen.“ , geben einem das Gefühl mitten in Anna Strongs Leben zu stehen und ihr Blut in den eigenen Adern fließen zu spüren. Schön beschrieben wird hier der ewige Kampf des Vampires mit sich selbst. So kann man sich gut in die Geschichte hinein gleiten lassen.
Anna Strong ist Kopfgeldjägerin. Sie spürt mit all ihren Sinnen Verbrecher auf und bringt diese wenn es sein muss auch zur Strecke. Der Kampf gegen das böse, bei Tag und bei Nacht. Bei Tage als Mensch und in der Nacht dann als Vampir. Anna kämpft zusammen mit diversen anderen übermenschlichen Wesen gegen das böse. Eine Art Wächter Organisation, welche die Menschen und die guten übernatürlichen Wesen beschützen sollen, vor jenen dunklen und düsteren Gestalten der Nacht.
In „Dunkle Küsse“ heißt es ein dunkles Ritual einer mächtigen Hexe zu verhindern. Sollte die Hexe es schaffen das Ritual zu vollziehen, würde ein mächtiger Dämon heraufbeschworen werden. Anna schart Verbündete um sich und lässt dem Tier, dem Vampir freien Lauf. Mit scharfen Instinkten löst sie die Rätsel und kommt mit wahren Freunden der Hexe und ihren menschlichen Dienern auf die Fährte...

Fazit: Wer Anne Rice mag und ihren Schreibstil, dem sei hier Jeanne C. Steins neue Vampirreihe ans Herz gelegt. Zwischen mörderischen Drogenbaronen, dem Verlangen nach Sex und Blut und zudem die Suche nach dem Killer und der mächtigen Hexe, hat man kaum Luft zu atmen. Wahnsinn.
