"Schatten der Wahrheit" !!

Norman und Claire Spencer sind ein glückliches Ehepaar. Er ist erfolgreicher Arzt und Wissenschaftler, sie liebevolle Mutter und Hausfrau. Gemeinsam mit ihrer Tochter Caitlin bewohnen sie seit neuestem ein prachtvoll ausgestattetes Traumhaus am See.
Nur Caitlins Weggang aufs College trübt das Familienglück verübergehend. Das schöne Haus ist jetzt leerer, aber Norman und Claire hoffen auch, nun mehr Zeit für einander und für ihre Arbeit zu haben.
Norman will sich voll auf seine Forschung konzentrieren. Claire will ihren weitläufigen Garten pflegen, um den sie sich seit einem schweren Autounfall nicht mehr wirklich hatte kümmern können.
Alles scheint perfekt, doch plötzlich geschehen seltsame Dinge: Claire, die mit der ungewohnten Einsamkeit zu kämpfen hat, beobachtet, wie das Nachbar-Ehepaar immer häufiger in Streit gerät. Und eines Abends trägt der Mann einen schweren Sack in sein Auto und fährt davon. Seine Frau bleibt daraufhin verschwunden. Claire ist sich bald sicher: Ein Mord ist geschehen! Und sie glaubt auch, dass der Mörder auch sie unschädlich machen will.
Doch bei Norman, der seine Frau für überspannt hält, findet Claire wenig Verständnis für diese Geschichte. Doch die unerklärlichen Geschehnisse beginnen sich zu häufen: Plötzlich fallen wie von Geisterhand Bilder vom Sideboard, die Haustür öffnet sich, ohne dass Claire sie berührt hätte. Claire hört Stimmen und wird von einer Frauenerscheinung geplagt. Was geht hier vor? Verzweifelt sucht Claire nach einer Erklärung für die Vorkommnisse, doch je näher sie der grauenvollen Wahrheit kommt, desto deutlicher wird, dass hier ein böser Geist am Werke ist, der sich nicht so einfach vertreiben lässt...
