Vielleicht kennt nicht jede diese Bar persönlich. Vielleicht war nicht jede schon einmal dort. Aber genau darum geht es auch nicht wirklich, sondern eher das es als Community wichtig ist, dass wir uns gegenseitig unterstützen – auch die Orte, die für viele andere ein Zuhause, ein Schutzraum und ein Stück Geschichte sind.
Das La Gata in Frankfurt am Main besteht seit 1971 und gilt als die älteste durchgehend bestehende Lesbenkneipe der Welt. Seit über 50 Jahren ist sie ein geschützter Raum für Begegnung, Sichtbarkeit, Austausch und Solidarität.
Ich kenne die Inhaberin Ricky persönlich – sie ist ein unglaublicher Herzensmensch, der diesen Ort mit Mut, Wärme und Leidenschaft geprägt hat. Menschen wie sie schaffen Räume, in denen andere sich sicher, gesehen und willkommen fühlen. Gerade solche Menschen verdienen jetzt unsere Unterstützung.
Die drohende Schließung würde nicht nur eine Bar treffen, sondern ein Stück lebendige lesbische Geschichte und einen unverzichtbaren Safe Space für unsere Community.
