Das Max-Ernst-Stipendium der Stadt Brühl wird 2009 bereits zum 39. Mal ausgelobt. Der Wettbewerb wird in der Zeit vom 2. bis 10. Februar 2009 durchgeführt. Schriftliche Bewerbungen sind bis zum 31. Dezember 2008 möglich.
Das Stipendium ist mit 5000 Euro dotiert und dient der Förderung junger Künstlerinnen und Künstler, die sich noch in der Kunstausbildung befinden müssen. Der Preisträger bzw. die Preisträgerin erhält eine zweiwöchige Ausstellung im historischen Kapitelsaal des Rathauses. Zudem kann die Stadt Brühl ein Werk des Preisträgers bzw. der Preisträgerin bis zu einem Ankaufswert von 2000 Euro erwerben.
Am Wettbewerb teilnehmen können alle Künstlerinnen und Künstler, die am Tag der Stipendiums-Verleihung, d.h. am 2.April 2009, nicht älter als 35 Jahre sind. Alle künstlerischen Medien sind (im Rahmen gewisser Größenbeschränkungen) zugelassen. Die Jurybewertung erfolgt an Hand von Originalarbeiten, die in Brühl einzureichen sind.
