Vor 90 Jahren kam der erste lesbische Film ins Kino

Es ist die Geschichte einer unerfüllten Liebe im strengen Preußen. Am 27. November 1931 hatte das Internatsdrama „Mädchen in Uniform“ von Leontine Sagan Premiere. Darin verliebt sich die 14 Jahre alte Manuela von Meinhardis in ihre Erzieherin Fräulein von Bernburg. Der frühe Tonfilm übt Kritik an „deutscher Zucht und Ordnung“. Thomas Manns Tochter Erika wirkte in einer Nebenrolle mit. In der Kinogeschichte gilt Sagans Werk als erster reiner Frauenfilm und als erster Lesben-Film.

Viele kennen den Stoff aus der Verfilmung des ungarischen Regisseurs Géza von Radványi. In dessen Version von 1958 spielt Romy Schneider die Schülerin und Lili Palmer die angehimmelte Lehrerin. Im Vergleich hinterlässt dennoch das 1931 gedrehte Werk einen bleibenderen Eindruck. Es wirkt mutiger, verhandelt Frauenliebe offener als das 50er-Jahre-Remake.

Ein Satz, den die verständnisvolle Erzieherin der schwärmenden Schülerin sagt, lautet aber auch: „Du darfst mich nicht ,so’ liebhaben.“ Der Film belegt, dass Deutschland erst spät wieder Anschluss an seine kulturelle Blütezeit der Weimarer Republik fand, in der es schon erstaunlich diverse Erzählungen gab. Übrigens: Als erster schwuler Film der Filmgeschichte gilt „Anders als die Andern §175“, ebenfalls ein deutsches Werk. Er kam schon 1919 heraus. dpa
