Die Zeit drängt: Wir können nicht weiter abwarten, wenn wir unser Klima retten wollen. Die Stärkung des Fuß- und Radverkehrs, des ÖPNV und die Stärkung von Car Sharing Systemen senkt die Emissionen von Treibhausgasen und Luftschadstoffen, sie mindert den Lärm und die Flächeninanspruchnahme.

Wir brauchen jetzt Ihre Hilfe! Bitte unterschreiben Sie diese Petition, um den öffentlichen Druck auf die Entscheidungstragenden zu erhöhen. Sie sollen endlich konkrete Schritte für eine gerechtere Verteilung des vorhandenen Raums einleiten, denn viele sind bereit für eine Verkehrswende. Sie wollen umsteigen. Die Politik muss dies anerkennen.

90 % der Deutschen möchten nach einer repräsentativen Befragung weniger auf Autos angewiesen sein. [2] Warum tun sie es nicht? Menschen fahren nicht mit dem Rad, weil enge, schlecht ausgebaute Fahrradwege nicht ausreichend Schutz bieten. Laufen ist unattraktiv, flüssiges Gehen ist auf zu engen Gehwegen selten möglich, Straßenüberquerungen sind rar und Ampeln haben zu lange Rotphasen.

Mit einer gerechteren Flächenverteilung würde sich das ändern. Fuß- und radfreundliche Straßen könnten das vorhandene Potential für eine Verkehrswende in der Bevölkerung ausschöpfen und unsere Städte lebenswerter machen.
