let go from an engagement

she'd been left a time or two -
seemingly out of the blue
(everything seemed to just come

so it's never been like she
didn't know what to do or
who she was whenever, well,
things like these happened to her
Still, admittedly, she would
get kinda scared, angry, sad
+, like, disillusioned then
for a couple of weeks or
even months, desperately, like,
trying to make sense of things,
trying to get back on track
by reinventing her path
(avoiding bitterness +
wrath + self-distructive shit
as best she could, you know, +
keeping up hope + kindness)
With her future up in the
air, both professionally
+ personally, there's no
point in self-pity, regrets
+ crumbling down, that she knew -
she'd always known that quite well -
