Die in Berlin-Kreuzberg lebendeJournalistin Nadine Lange, ihres Zeichens Kulturredakteurin beim Tagesspiegel zeigt in ihrem Erstlingsroman "Ein Eis mit Jo" ( erschienen 2022 im Querverlag Berlin) auf jeder einzelnen der 240 Seiten, dass sie kann, was sie tut: mit wohltuender stilistischer Leichtfüßigkeit groovt sie sich auf die Erfordernisse von Gattung und (Sub-)Genre ein und beweist dabei Fingerspitzengefühl auf allen Ebenen:

die Protagonist*innen haben Tiefe, der Plot ist weitaus facettenreicher als prima vista zu vermuten, nimmt sofort Fahrt auf und reißt mit, das Lokalkolorit ist grandios getroffen.

Humorig, authentisch und mit großer Sensibilität für implizite historisch-politische Zwischentöne, erzählt Lange mehr als nur eine banale, kleine, queere Liebesgeschichte vor der Kulisse des istrischen Sommers, hat hier bei weitem Größeres geschaffen als liebliche, leichtverdauliche Strandlektüre.

Ohne Frage: dieses Debut macht große Lust auf Meer - vor allem aber auf mehr an Lesestoff von dieser Romancière!
