Beide Frauen, die sich gemeinsam eine Nacht um die Ohren schlagen, haben ein großes Erbe zu bewältigen. Jennifer Lynch ist die Tochter von Regisseur David Lynch ("Eraserhead", "Blue Velvet", "Mulholland Drive"
, und Melissas verstorbener Vater Nick Auf der Maur war als Journalist und Politiker ein Idol in Montreal. Die Rockmusikerin hat sich zudem den Status der erfolgreichen Solokünstlerin nach Jahren als Bassistin in den Erfolgsbands Hole und The Smashing Pumpkins hart erkämpfen müssen. Auch Jennifer Lynch hat ganz eigene Dämonen: Neben der übermächtigen Vaterfigur kämpft sie noch immer mit den Folgen eines beinahe tödlichen Autounfalls, war lange Jahre alkohol- und drogenabhängig und startete ihre Karriere als Filmemacherin 1993 mit dem Skandalfilm "Boxing Helena".
Heute stehen die Namen beider Frauen für sich selbst: Melissa Auf der Maur hat mit "Out of Our Minds" ihr zweites erfolgreiches Soloalbum eingespielt, und Jennifer Lynch hatte 2008 ein großes Comeback, als ihr Film "Unter Kontrolle" in Cannes Premiere feierte.
