Herzlich willkommen im andersROOM - dem Begegnungs- und Beratungszentrum für Schwule und Lesben, Bisexuelle und Transgender, deren FreundInnen und Angehörige in Siegen.

Die alte Feuerwehrwache an der Alche direkt hinter dem Minigolfplatz will ein Platz sein für alle Farben des Regenbogens: "DiverSIty" im roten Zimmer, "YoHo" im blauen Raum, die Beratungsstelle der SIS im grünen Bereich - und alle zusammen und noch viele mehr unten in der alten Fahrzeughalle, wo vieles möglich wird, was aktive Menschen auf die Beine stellen dürfen: Ausstellungen und Autorenlesungen, Musik und Kabarett, Diskussion und Talk, Kochgruppe und Tanzkurs, offene Treffs und Partys...

Träger des andersROOM ist die Schwule Initiative Siegen (SIS), die es seit 1977 gibt. Die Schwulengruppe baute das Schwulen Begegnungs Zentrum aus, das SBZ, das 1995 eröffnet wurde und sich im Laufe der Jahre zum lesbischwulen Zentrum weiterentwickelt hat. Zur SIS gehört eine Beratungsstelle, die von einem ehrenamtlichen schwul-lesbischen Team getragen und seit 1998 mit einer hauptamtlichen Kraft verstärkt wird. Das SBZ erlebt seinen zehnten Geburtstag nicht mehr: Die Halle soll dem Schleifmühlchen-Kreisverkehr weichen.

Andersrum ist nicht verkehrt: Das ist das Motto der Akzeptanzkampagne des Landes Nordrhein-Westfalen. andersROOM spricht sich andersrum, was bei echten SiegerländerInnen genauso Englisch klingt. andersROOM ist ein Raum, der ausdrücklich das erlaubt, was zum Beispiel im Kreisverkehr unmöglich ist: andersrum zu (über)leben.
