Isabel, vom Spiel der Liebe bitter enttäuscht, führt im Hinterhaus einer Berliner Zweizimmerwohnung ein Schattendasein, als sie die wohlhabende Johanna kennenlernt. In schönster Ingrid-Noll-Manier nimmt Regina Nössler einen durch die Hauptperson Isabel mit an die Abgründe. Aus einer scheinbar harmlos-netten Unterhaltungsliteratur wird nach und nach ein Beziehungsthriller der besonderen Art. Und die Autorin lässt der Leserin genügend Platz, die angedeuteten Abwege selber mit Leben zu füllen.
