Träge wälzt sich der Mississippi durch die Stadt des Halbmondes. Irgendwo liegt die Leiche einer jungen Frau, erstochen und misshandelt. Es ist Herbst in New Orleans. Menschen sterben. Familien rücken näher zusammen. Eine Ironie des Schicksals beschert Micky Knight, hartgesottene Privatdetektivin und selbst Waise, gleich zwei Aufträge, deren Ziel die Wiedervereinigung von Müttern mit ihren Kindern ist. Und als wäre das noch nicht genug Familienchaos, schlägt der Tod auch noch in Mickys Verwandtschaft gleich mehrmals zu ....

Beurteilung von Miriam
Von den Fans und den "Süchtigen" schon lange erwartet, kam 1998 endlich der vierte und bislang letzte Band mit Micky Knight, Privatdetektivin in New Orleans, heraus. Spannend ist vor allem, ob es jetzt noch weitere Bücher mit derselben Heldin geben wird, nachdem in diesem Buch die Auflösung von Mickys tragischer Kindheit vollzogen wird.
Hach, schade. Der letzte Band. Nee, klar... dass ihre Mutter auch ne Lesbe ist... warum überrascht mich das nicht?! *g
