Computer bestimmen die Abläufte in der Zukunft und damit hat der Programmierer Krischan Ros einen sicheren Job und ein ruhiges Leben. Das ändert sich schlagartig, als seine Schwester ihn überredet, sich ein Haustier anzuschaffen - einen Kanarra. Das Katzenwesen erscheint nämlich nicht besonders verschmust, und Krischan bemerkt zu spät, dass es sich bei seinem neuen Mitbewohner Shkarr um den Angehörigen einer intelligenten Spezies handelt. Auf der Suche nach Shkarrs Herkunft geraten sie in Lebensgefahr, als sie Pläne entdecken, für deren Geheimhaltung die Verantwortlichen ohne Zögern über Leichen gehen. Und dann wird Shkarr entdeckt.

Total abgefahren! Zumindest für mich, weil ich SciFi normaler Weise gar nicht lese. Es ist eine - entsprechend dem Genre - irre angelegte Geschichte, die sich hauptsächlich um Werte wie Freundschaft, Vertrauen, Liebe, Aufrichtigkeit dreht. Und die einen gehörigen Schuss Gesellschaftskritik beinhaltet. Das ganze noch dazu als schwule Beziehung zwischen einem Menschen und einem Katzenmann.

Ich habe diese geschichte gelesen als die Autorin due Geschichte nur im Internet veröffentlicht hatte und schon damals fand ich es einfach nur genial!! Es is so eine schöne geschichte. Auch ich bin nicht unbedingt eine sciencefiction leserin aber es ist einfach eine schöne Geschichte mit interesanten ansätzen was passieren kann wenn man mit den genen spielt.
