Synne ist Ende zwanzig und ungebunden. Als sie zum ersten Mal ihre neue Chefin Rebecca erblickt, ist sie von der Anziehungskraft der fünfzehn Jahre älteren Frau überwältigt. Rebecca kommt aus einer vornehmen Familie, ist verheiratet und hat vier Kinder.

Gemischte Gefühle: Synne hängt sich an Rebecca - so wie es bei mir ankommt fast bis zur Selbstaufgabe. Ein Zug, den ich nicht kenne, und vor allem generell ablehne. Denn es entsteht, wie zu erwarten, ein "Schrecken ohne Ende" über sieben lange Jahre hinweg. Und als das Ende schließlich kommt, ist es noch viel tragischer, als man es hätte vermuten können.
Eigentlich mag ich keine Bücher, bei denen man bereits zu Beginn davon ausgehen kann, daß es kein Happy End gibt. Das Leben ist traurig genug, da möchte ich in meinen Büchern wenigstens was positives. Trotzallem habe ich dieses Buch gelesen, ohne es nochmals aus der Hand zu legen und war schlichtweg begeistert über die Art des Erzählens und auch über diese tragische Handlung. Ein tolles Buch mit "Nachgedanken"-Garan tie!
