Ein kleiner schwäbischer Ort, beinahe idyllisch - wären da nicht der unheimliche Herbstnebel, feindselige Menschen und der Tod. Johanna Fink, gerade vierzig geworden und lebensmüde, soll sich um den Nachlass ihrer verstorbenen Tante kümmern. Der Fund eines toten Buchfinks auf der Terrasse verstört sie. Und eines Morgens liegt an derselben Stelle eine tote Frau. Plötzlich geschehen um Johanna herum Morde. In dem kleinen süddeutschen Nest und auch in ihrem Umfeld zu Hause in Berlin - überall, wo Johanna ist, muss jemand sterben. Reiner Zufall? Schließlich fühlt sich Johanna selbst durch die unheimliche Todesserie bedroht.

Kein Krimi-Fan - und doch sehr angetan!Regina Nössler schafft eine erstaunliche Dichte in den langen Strecken des Quasi-Inneren-Dialogs der Protagonistin. Sie ist so sehr auf sich fixiert und Ich-bezogen, dass die Wahrnehmung der Außenwelt ihr zunehmend schwerer fällt. Dass bei drei Morden im persönlichen Umfeld die Grundfesten erschüttert werden, ist allerdings ja auch nachvollziehbar.
