Sie wirkt sogar eher unattraktiv. Doch da ist etwas Besonderes an dieser Frau, das Katrin gleich den Kopf verdreht. Eine eigentümliche Faszination geht von der Autorin aus. Ohne zu zögern stürzt sich Katrin in ein Abenteuer, das schnell mehr wird als nur eine leidenschaftliche Affäre. Bücher sind eigentlich eher ein Faible ihrer Freundin Hanna, die in einem Verlag arbeitet. Aber da Katrin Hanna liebt, geht sie eben mit zur Lesung. So lernt Katrin die Schriftstellerin Maren kennen. Hört, wie sie mit sanfter Stimme aus ihrem Buch liest. Auf unerklärliche Weise übt die viel ältere Frau eine starke Anziehungskraft auf Katrin aus. Dabei ist die Autorin arrogant, eigenwillig und obendrein noch nachlässige Trägerin eines Schlabberpullis. Katrin lässt sich von ihr anziehen. Und ausziehen. Setzt die Sicherheit ihrer Beziehung mit Hanna aufs Spiel und verbringt bald Tage voller Leidenschaft im Haus der Autorin auf dem Land. Doch dort draußen im Dorf scheinen seltsame Dinge zu geschehen. Die Autorin erzählt Katrin, dass im Ort vor Jahren auf mysteriöse Weise Frauen verschwanden. Zunehmend fühlt sich Katrin verunsichert. Während sie der Geschichtenerzählerin mehr und mehr verfällt, hat die ihre eigenen Pläne mit Katrin. Bis Maren jäh den Kontakt zu Katrin abbricht und die eine unglaubliche Entdeckung macht.

Beurteilung von Miriam
Zu diesem Buch habe ich leider zu keinem Zeitpunkt einen Zugang gefunden. Schon der Einstieg - natürlich wegweisend - ließ mich gefühlsmäßig völlig kalt, die Autorin (des Buches) schaffte es zu keinem Zeitpunkt, mich wirklich in die Geschichte auch emotional herein zu holen. Und sozusagen "von außen" betrachtet konnte ich vieles sowohl in der Story als auch in der Erzählweise nicht wirklich nachvollziehen, geschweige denn "mitleben".
