Durch ein Bündel alter Briefe erfährt die Berliner Fotografin Ruth Siebert von der großen Liebe ihrer verstorbenen Mutter - einer Liebe, die zur Zeit der Nazi-Herrschaft keine Zukunft hatte. Die Briefe zeichnen die Spur einer Emigration nach, die in der Auvergne endet. Ruth beschließt, sich auf die Suche nach dem Geliebten ihrer Mutter zu machen, und fährt nach Frankreich. Dort macht sie eine erstaunliche Entdeckung ... Und gewinnt zudem Klarheit über ihre Gefühle für Lilli, die Saxophonistin mit der Leidenschaft für Tango und Jazz.

Ein tolles Buch! Eine außergewöhnliche Geschichte, die mit ihren unterschiedlichen Fäden von Sonja Steinert trotzdem übersichtlich gehalten wird. Und die Zusammenführung ist zwar vorhersehbar, aber sehr gut gemacht.
