Ivan E. Coyote
Joey, Anfang 40 und Automechaniker in der kanadischen Provinz, versteht die Welt nicht mehr: Seine Frau Allyson hat ihn verlassen. Sie lebt nun in Calgary mit einer Frau zusammen. Doch nicht die andere Frau ist Joeys Problem. Er begreift nicht, wie es überhaupt zu der Trennung kommen konnte. Hat er seine Frau denn so wenig gekannt? Als Joey unverhofft Besitzer eines Cellos wird, nimmt sein Leben eine Wende. Er beschließt, im fernen Calgary Cellounterricht zu nehmen ... Wie es Joey gelingt, wieder auf die Füße zu kommen und sich mit seiner Ex und ihrer neuen Lebensgefährtin Katherine zu einem guten Umgang zu finden, beschreibt Ivan E. Coyote auf sehr berührende Weise. Am Ende der Romans eröffnen sich für Joey, Allyson und Kathleen ungeahnte neue Perspektiven ...

Bei dem Titel bin ich schon positiv voreingenommen. Cello! Vom Himmel gefallen! Wenn das nicht neugierig macht! Und dann eine Geschichte, die alles hält, was der ungewöhnliche Titel verspricht. Melancholisch angelegt, was anderen Autorinnen eventuell in die Depression abgeglitten wäre, schafft es Ivan E. Coyote, ein zutiefst berührende Geschichte aus einer Lebenskrise heraus zurück ins Leben zu erzählen. Genuss pur!
Und plötzlich Cellospielerin...
Nachdem ich den Roman von Ivan E. Coyote gelesen hatte, ließ mich der Gedanke an das Cellospielen nicht mehr los und keine vier Wochen später hatte ich meine erste Stunde.
